不知大家有没有关注昨天揭晓的世界" 新七大奇迹 "的投票结果？我没有特地去留意，但刚好在电视上面看过一小段。其中咱们中国的长城成功地入选并位列榜首，其余六大奇迹是约旦佩特拉古城、巴西基督像、秘鲁马丘比丘印加遗址、墨西哥奇琴伊察玛雅城邦遗址、古罗马斗兽场、印度泰姬陵。说来惭愧，这些地方我都没有去过。不过Google Earth可以初步帮助我实现这个愿望，允许我事先对这些奇迹进行了解。

在妇女节所介绍的 突破Google Maps极限而获得更清晰图像的方法 里，其中的高清图像有一部分是来自非洲。根据GEblog的 介绍 ，这些高清图像来自美国 国家地理杂志 。图像由摄影师Michael Fay所拍摄，他在小型飞机上，使用特殊的航空摄像机，拍下了9万多张相片，其中的几百张被Google更新上了Google Earth。因此在这些高清的图像里，你可能会看到图像里的人正抬头望着天空，那是因为他们发现了Michael Fay进行拍摄时的飞机。

Google Earth再次进行更新，这一次的主要更新对象是图层（Layers）。根据Google的提供的 信息 ，这次Google Earth的主要更新包括：

1.下载相关的 KMZ ，然后用Google Earth打开它；
2.点击Google Earth界面顶部的时间滑动轴左边的设置图标：
3.把Repeat mode设为"Bounce"：
4.点击时间滑动轴右边的播放图标进行播放即可。
这个KMZ由 barnabu 制作。需要注意的是最近由于海底光缆还没有修复，电信用户打开Google Earth后，可能会发现它要花很久才连接得上服务...

根据GEarthblog的 更新 ，Google昨天给Google Earth加上了新的图层，即"Geographic Web"系列图层。包括了：
*Best of Google Earth Community：精选地点相关的 GE社区 贴子信息。
*Panoramio：精选Panoramio上面的相关贴图（不过似乎加载速度极慢=.=）
*Wikipedia：直接显示地点相关的Wikipedia英文内容（如上图所示。好是好，但...）
默认就是选中Geographic Web的，不过在Google Earth上浏览时，这些图层标志可能显示速度会慢一些...

早前Google Maps移动版（GMM）已经支持了实时交通状况，从今天起，它更支持了直接浏览KML。这也是继网络版Google Maps之后，移动版Google Maps新增的同一项功能。
