1. 维他命C还原碘酒测试
在市面上广告常常会以还原碘酒（由棕色变透明）的作用来测试产品是否具有维他命C的活性。但这样的做法，只能说产品中含有可还原碘酒的维他命C，并无法表示其美白效用的高地，更不能引申说，肌肤内的黑色素也会如此变化而还原变透明。像是其他有美白及抗氧化效果的维生素C衍生物，碘酒测试并不一定会有明显反应，但使用后对于皮肤来说还是会有美白级抗氧化功能。所以这样的测试，充其量不过是商人用来夸大宣传的用途罢了。
2. 维他命C的浓度
