7月18日消息，随着技术的成熟，伦敦也加入了城市WiFi无线网络阵营，这也标志着免费公共无线网络服务在欧洲以及美国等发展中国家市场的成熟。
据CNET报道，在此次计划中英国伦敦泰晤士河两岸13.6英里的长度，都将提供免费的WiFi无线上网服务，针对普通消费者和商务用户。提供该服务的为WiFi网络基础设施公司MeshHopper。实际上，去年开始 MeshHopper就已经在英国泰晤士地区推出了WiFi无线网络商业服务，涵盖了从伦敦中心的Mill银行到伦敦东南部的Greenwich。
当然该服务完全免费向用户开发，不过每使用15分钟该服务，之前用户必须同意观看一段15到30秒钟的广告内...
