What is a Blog NetworK?
Filed in archive Blogosphere by Anita Campbell on October 20, 2006

The reason I am writing the column is to give some insight into this fascinating yet cutting edge adventure we call Creative Weblogging.
I've been associated with Creative Weblogging ever since our CEO, Torsten Jacobi, created it. I started blogging at one of the CW network blogs, the RFID Weblog, in February 2004, and I've watched this business grow and take shape and get better all the time. I hope to convey some of the excitement and uniqueness of being part of Creative Weblogging.
Each column will bring insights into what it is like to be participating in a blog network, including the virtual nature of this business; its global "citizen of the world" approach; and all the interesting people you come into contact with when you blog in the network.
In my first column, "Excuse me, what is a blog network?" I wrote about the difficulty of defining what a blog network is to those in the corporate world. Depending on how you define it, there are anywhere from 75 blog networks to upwards of 200.
However, there are relatively few independently-owned blog networks -- and few of the size of Creative Weblogging. And there are none as unique, in my opinion, with such a global approach with such an important and interesting blend of topics to mainstream businesspeople and consumers alike.
Look for a new column every Thursday at The Blogging Times.
