Creative Weblogging was a media partner at the recent BlogHer Conference, held July 28-29, 2006 in San Jose, California.

General Motors had 10 cars available and was offering test drives to conference attendees. The attendees were mainly women, since BlogHer is a conference for women bloggers.

One of the Creative Weblogging staff, our very own Sonja Schweigert, was able to test drive several models. In this series of posts, she highlights her reaction to the models she saw and/or drove there:

Sonja: "The Saturn Aura is a stylish model sitting so pretty in the shade of the hot California sun. Look at the beautiful wheels on this baby."




Sonja: "The interior of this Aura is lovely with its camel-brown leather seats and black dashboard with wood accents. Who says a fuel-efficient car has to be boring? Not GM."




Sonja: "But what I could not stop looking at was the roof. See this crazy sun roof? It stacks up in zigzag fashion when you open it. According to GM's literature, the panoramic roof can slide the panels into four different positions and, to adjust sun exposure, the electric sunshade stops anywhere between open and closed."




The Aura comes in two different versions - the Aura XE with 224 horsepower in a 3.5 L V-6 Engine and 4 speed automatic or as the higher performing Aura XR with 252 hp in a 3.6L V-6 Engine with a 6 speed automatic transmission.
