Our latest travel blog has been launched and it is all about travel from off the beaten path: Hidden Travel Gems.

You will find several travel blogs here at Creative Weblogging -- and each is different. What excites me so much about Hidden Travel Gems is its emphasis on unusual places, and perhaps most importantly, the approach taken by Susan Fogwell, the Editor. She writes:

"I have a passion for world travel. While flitting from one place to another, I have gained an incredible amount of valuable travel tips. On a daily basis, I will post about the inside scoop on places that I have personally visited. Included in my posts will be tips on hotels, resorts, restaurants, shopping, museums, culture, travel alerts, books and much more! If I'm writing about it, it means that "I've been there and done that." Press releases do not exist in my blog. Each post is based on my personal experience at a given destination. So who is this person who has traveled so much that she can write about global travels from a "been there, done that" perspective?

Susan Fogwell has been a flight attendant with a major U.S. airline for 10 years. She's logged a lot of miles and seen a lot of places. She writes for a variety of publications about travel.

For instance, she wrote a series of articles about a recent trip to Italy, including some comments about being able to find undiscovered parts of Italy, noting: "Yet, the truth is, vast districts of the Peninsula, especially in the Tuscan, Roman, and Neapolitan States remain undiscovered. Of the swarms of foreigners who yearly traverse the country between Florence and Rome, not one in a hundred leaves the beaten track to visit objects of antiquity, and fewer make a journey into the intervening districts."
