reaching your customers through weblogs

"A new survey of blog readers in the US conducted by Weblog ad network Blogads, says they're generally older and wealthier than you'd think.
Furthermore, many donate online, buy books and magazines, and have actually clicked on adverts inside blogs.
Blogads asked 17,159 blog site visitors a set of questions to survey
just who they were.
Over 60 percent turned out to be over 30 years old. Almost one third are between 31 and 40, while over a third are 41-60. The final third is around 19-30. And some 40 percent have a household income of
90,000 dollars and above.
Coincidentally, this kind of audience is the one that is currently being lost to TV worldwide. Nearly 80 per cent of blog readers are male.
Female blog readers tend to be older as nearly 50 percent are 41-60.
Since many blogs - in particular in the US - are generally about politics and current affairs, many have served as a communities for niche political or environmental campaigns.
Out of 65 per cent of those surveyed who also clicked on a blog ad, almost 40 percent donated money as a result. Personally I think this is a US phenomena - Europeans, IMHO are more stingy!
According to BlogAds, about 40 per cent of blog readers (remember, this was a US survey) are Democrats, over 22 per cent are Republicans, 20 per cent are Independent, 11 percent are Libertarian (whtever that is), and 4 percent are Green Party supporters.
More significantly, Blog readers buy stuff online. Half of all respondents spent more than $50 online on books and 23 percent spent
$100-$199 in the previous 6 months, and between $20 and $99 on subscriptions through the Web. Almost half spent more than $500 online for plane tickets, and a quarter bought between $100 and $499 worth of consumer electronics online.
Unsurprisingly, over half said they get their news online too, with just 16 percent from print newspapers, and 13 percent from TV. "
